The word lightworker, is one which you will hear used a lot, particularly in healing and metaphysical circles. The term is used to describe someone who appears to embody innate spiritual qualities in abundance. They are very loving and sensitive; caring and empathic. They often exhibit a strong desire to heal others and are often drawn to healing professions, as well as practicing spiritual healing modalities such as Reiki. They have a strong social conscience and care very deeply for the earth and it’s environmental problems.
It is believed that lightworkers are people who volunteered, before birth, to help the planet and its population heal from the effects of fear and negativity. Each lightworker is here for a sacred purpose. Some lightworkers are born with this knowledge, others come to re remember over time. The process of remembering can be difficult at times for them, as their compassionate and caring natures will mean that they will often go through some very difficult life experiences. But it is believed that this is also a choice they made before being born. So that through trials of life, they will evolve and mature spiritually, and indeed be more prepared for their role on earth.
Lightworkers, become the teachers, the doctors, the social reformists and the environmentalists. They are the writers, the poets and the artists. Who through their work, awaken others to their own inner light. They are on this earth to educate, to stimulate and to inspire. The lightworkers are also the ones who quietly go about their business, not drawing attention to themselves, but humbly spending their lives helping those less fortunate then themselves.
It is believed that lightworkers carry within them the ability to attain spiritual awakening faster than other people. That they carry within them the seeds for rapid spiritual growth. This is not because lightworkers are in any way better or higher souls then anyone else. It is simply that they are, older than most souls presently incarnated on the earth. This older age should be understood in terms of experience rather than time.
Lightworkers have reached a particular stage of enlightenment before they incarnate on earth and start their mission. They consciously choose to become entrenched in the ‘karmic wheel of life’ choosing to keep on experiencing difficult and often painful life experiences so that they may continue to be of service to the earth and her inhabitants. This shows a deep love for humanity and life in all its forms, for it is a willing sacrifice they make to return here, when they could if they wished stay in the higher realms of spirit. And work for the betterment of mankind from a safe distance.
The characteristics of lightworkers are this. From early on in their life, they feel they are different. Sometimes feeling isolated from others and misunderstood. They are very individual, and sometimes have problems with authority. They naturally resist decisions or values based solely on power or hierarchy, prefering democractic and co operative based distribution of power and self autonomy for all human beings. Lightworkers feel drawn to helping people as therapist or as a teacher. They may be psychologists, healers, teachers, nurses. If their profession is not about helping people in a direct manner, their intent to contribute to the higher good of humanity is always present. Below is the lightworkers creed. Which for me illustrates perfectly, the essence of a lightworkers life.
I AM a Lightworker I awoke so that others may awaken, I learn so that others may also learn, I transform so that others may transform, I lighten my load so that others may change theirs, I learn to see so that others may also see I forgave myself so that I may help others to forgive, I love myself so that I can bring out love in others. I AM a Lightworker, I live to give comfort, I live to shine loving light onto others, I live to heal, I live to give hope, I live for truth, I live to love.
